Worksheet to Quiz Converter — Instant Multiple-Choice Questions from Any Worksheet

QuizCraft reads any worksheet — printed, scanned, or photographed — and converts it into a complete multiple-choice quiz you can run on Kahoot, Blooket, Gimkit, or Google Forms. No typing required.

What it does in one sentence: You photograph or upload any worksheet, and QuizCraft's AI extracts the content, converts it into multiple-choice questions with plausible distractors, and exports the quiz in whatever format you need — all in about 30 seconds. Free to try, no credit card required.

How It Works — 4 Steps

1

Photograph or scan your worksheet

Take a photo with your phone or scan the worksheet to PDF. Lay the worksheet flat on a desk, use good lighting, and make sure the text is readable. That's all the prep required — no special scanner app needed.

2

Upload to QuizCraft

Go to QuizCraft and upload your image or PDF. The AI reads the worksheet using OCR and natural language processing to understand the content, structure, and key concepts on the page.

3

AI generates multiple-choice questions

In about 30 seconds, QuizCraft produces a full set of multiple-choice questions drawn from your worksheet content. Fill-in-the-blank questions become completion multiple choice. Short answer questions become four-option questions. Matching items become individual questions. Review and edit anything before exporting.

4

Export to your preferred platform

Download in the format you need: Kahoot .xlsx, Blooket CSV, Gimkit JSON, Google Forms, or plain CSV. Import into your platform and it's ready to use with students — no manual entry at any point.

What Types of Worksheets Work?

QuizCraft was designed with the full diversity of classroom materials in mind. Here's how different worksheet formats perform:

Fill-in-the-Blank Worksheets

These convert exceptionally well. QuizCraft reads the sentence with the blank and generates a multiple-choice question using the correct word as the answer and contextually plausible alternatives as distractors. Vocabulary worksheets, grammar exercises, and science fact sheets in fill-in-the-blank format are ideal inputs.

Short Answer Worksheets

Short answer content — where students write 1–3 sentence responses — gets converted into multiple-choice format by having the AI identify the correct answer and generate three alternative responses that represent common misconceptions or related but incorrect information. The questions stay aligned to the original intent of the worksheet.

Multiple Choice Worksheets

If your worksheet already has multiple choice questions, QuizCraft reads them directly and preserves the format. This is the fastest path — you're essentially digitizing existing questions rather than converting them. The output is immediately export-ready with no reformatting needed.

Matching Worksheets

Matching exercises — where students draw lines from a term to a definition, or from a cause to an effect — get converted into individual multiple-choice questions. Each term or item from the left column becomes a question stem, with the correct match as the answer and other items from the worksheet as distractors. Vocabulary matching worksheets work especially well with this approach.

True/False Worksheets

True/false questions get expanded into four-option multiple choice. QuizCraft converts the statement into a question stem and generates modified versions of the statement as incorrect choices. This usually produces more instructionally valuable questions than the original true/false format.

Export Options — Use Your Quiz Anywhere

One of QuizCraft's most practical features is that it exports to every major platform teachers use. You generate your questions once and can deploy them anywhere:

Kahoot .xlsx Import directly into Kahoot's question editor for a whole-class countdown game
Blooket CSV Import into a Blooket question set for Gold Quest, Tower Defense, and more
Gimkit JSON Import into a Gimkit kit for Classic, Trust No One, or homework assignment
Google Forms Create a graded quiz that auto-grades in Google Classroom
Plain CSV Import into any platform or paste into a Word doc for a printable paper quiz

This multi-platform export means you're never locked into a single tool. If your school moves from Kahoot to Blooket, or you want to run the same quiz in multiple formats for different class periods, your QuizCraft questions work everywhere.

Tips for Best Results

Good Lighting Makes a Real Difference

When photographing a paper worksheet, lighting quality significantly affects OCR accuracy. Natural daylight or bright overhead lighting produces the clearest images. Avoid taking photos under single-point lamp lighting that creates shadows across the page. If you can scan the worksheet instead of photographing it, scanning typically produces the cleanest text recognition.

Keep the Worksheet Flat

Curved or wrinkled pages cause OCR errors because the text at the edges becomes distorted. Lay your worksheet completely flat on a desk or table before photographing. For worksheets from spiral-bound notebooks or binders, gently flatten them fully before shooting.

Clear, Readable Text Is Key

Printed worksheets work best. Very small font sizes (under 8pt) or decorative fonts can reduce OCR accuracy. If a worksheet has very small text, scan it at high resolution (300 DPI or higher) rather than photographing it. Standard worksheet fonts at 10–12pt produce near-perfect text extraction.

Upload One Topic at a Time

If you have a multi-page packet covering several different topics, consider splitting it and uploading one topic section at a time. You'll get more focused question sets that are better suited to individual lessons or review sessions. A 3-page worksheet on cell structure is more useful as one quiz than mixed in with a 3-page worksheet on photosynthesis.

Classroom Use Cases

Bell Ringers

Photograph last night's homework worksheet, upload it to QuizCraft, and you have a 5-question bell ringer quiz on Kahoot ready before your students walk in. This takes about 2 minutes total and ensures your bell ringer is directly tied to what students were supposed to review the night before.

Exit Tickets

At the end of a lesson, upload the worksheet you worked through in class. Generate 4–5 questions and run them as a quick Blooket or Gimkit session. Students answer on their devices and you instantly see who understood the day's content and who needs follow-up tomorrow.

Test Review

Compile your unit worksheets into a review packet, upload them to QuizCraft, and generate a 20-question review Blooket game. Students play as a class or individually for homework. The questions are drawn directly from the materials you already used for instruction, so the review is 100% aligned to what you taught.

Homework Accountability

Assign a worksheet for homework, then create a short 5-question quiz from that worksheet to open class the next day. It takes 30 seconds of prep and ensures students actually completed the work. Run it on Gimkit's Classic mode — students who did the homework will zip through it; those who didn't will quickly realize the value of completing assignments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it work with handwritten worksheets?

QuizCraft works best with printed worksheets. Handwritten content is supported via OCR, but accuracy depends heavily on the clarity and neatness of the handwriting. Neat block printing typically works; cursive or messy handwriting has reduced accuracy. For handwritten student responses, you're better off with printed teacher worksheets as the source material.

What image formats are supported?

QuizCraft accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, and PDF files. For the best OCR accuracy, use PDF scans or high-resolution JPG/PNG photos (at least 1000px wide). Files up to 20MB are supported for images; PDFs can be up to 50 pages.

Can I use worksheets in other languages?

Yes. QuizCraft supports source material in Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, and several other languages. The AI generates questions in the same language as the worksheet. This is particularly useful for world language teachers who want to create practice quizzes from existing exercises.

How many questions does it generate from a worksheet?

Typically 8–15 questions from a standard single-page worksheet, depending on content density. Two-page worksheets yield 15–25 questions. You can set a target question count before generating if you want a specific number for your activity.

Is there a limit on worksheet size?

QuizCraft handles worksheets up to 10 pages as a single upload (or up to 50 pages for PDF uploads). For longer packets, splitting them into logical sections and uploading each separately gives you more focused, topic-specific question sets. Single image files should be under 20MB.
